Our Story

In 2001, Bill Kelley and Kelli Currey started a small family business in Fairmont, West Virginia with a simple idea — take appliances that others had thrown away, repair them, and give them a second life.

Working side by side, they would pick up discarded machines, repair them themselves, clean them thoroughly, and offer dependable appliances at an affordable price for families in their community. Through hard work, honesty, and a commitment to helping others, Speedway Appliance began to grow.

Over the next decade, that small operation continued to expand. What started as a humble repair-and-resale business gradually became one of the largest refurbished appliance dealers in Northern West Virginia — and possibly the entire state. As demand grew, more employees joined the team and Speedway’s reputation for dependable appliances and trustworthy service continued to spread.

In 2013, after graduating from Bridgeport High School, their son Zach joined the family business and began working alongside his parents. Years later, their youngest son Logan would also join the team, eventually taking over and leading the HVAC side of the business.

During this time, Speedway Appliance experienced tremendous growth. A second location was opened in Nutter Fort, allowing the business to serve even more families throughout the region. Soon after, Speedway reached another major milestone — expanding beyond refurbished and scratch-and-dent appliances to begin offering brand new appliances from trusted manufacturers.

This expansion marked a turning point for the company. What began as a small family repair operation had grown into a full appliance and home comfort business capable of serving the community in an even greater way.

Today, Speedway Appliance remains a family-driven business built on the same values it started with: honest service, dependable products, and a genuine desire to help people make the right decisions for their homes.
